🌿 Vivian’s Story
From Curiosity to Lifelong Wellness
👋 Hi, I’m Vivian.
I’m a physician specializing in ophthalmology, a mother of two, and someone who has always been deeply curious about health and fitness. Even during medical school and residency, when time was scarce, I found myself experimenting with new diets and workouts—from South Beach Diet to Jane Fonda aerobics and Tae Bo.

As life settled and my children grew, I began experiencing back pain, posture issues, and the daily stresses of balancing career and family. That discomfort sparked a deeper wellness journey. I explored Vedic meditation, yoga (including a Sivananda Yoga teacher certification), Zen Buddhism, and Tai Chi. I even tried vegetarianism for a time, only to realize it wasn’t right for me.

Movement became both therapy and passion. I embraced tennis, indoor rock climbing, and eventually strength training—starting with bodyweight work and kettlebells, then progressing to weightlifting and evidence-based nutrition. Along the way, I earned my NASM Certified Personal Trainer credential.

Injuries such as a rotator cuff strain and elbow tendinitis led me to physical therapy and Functional Range Conditioning (FRC), where I became a certified instructor. Just before the pandemic, I discovered karate. What began as a physical challenge grew into a practice of patience, consistency, and humility. Four years later, I earned my Shodan black belt in Goju Karate—a milestone that reinforced my belief in “beginner’s mind”: always learning, always growing.
Looking ahead, I see myself not only as a student but also as a teacher. I believe that sharing knowledge is one of the best ways to continue learning. Some of my most rewarding moments come from guiding others at the dojo and beyond.

At 360 Wellness Academy, I hope to distill the overwhelming amount of health and fitness information into something clear, practical, and science-based—helping others make informed choices that lead to lasting well-being. My vision is to inspire others to stay curious, embrace growth, and pass knowledge forward so that wellness becomes a shared, lifelong ripple effect.
